Our Mission | To heal and restore lives in the community through authentic relationship and professional collaboration.
The word communion means sharing and close fellowship.
We believe in the healing power of relationship.
To experience the presence of another person who is deeply attuned to us; who listens with care; who pays attention and bears witness to the details and nuances of our lives.
To have all parts of us feel heard, seen and understood.
To explore our lives with curiosity and wonder.
Mitch specializes in providing collaborative therapy practices by joining with you and other healthcare professionals you work with to develop a holistic, individualized plan to reach your goals.
By providing a safe space and trusting relationship, he will help you find hope, meaning in your suffering, healing and the development of practical strategies to manage life's difficulties in a healthy way moving forward.
As a supplement to his work, Mitch is certified as a CSAT (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist) to address a variety of problematic and addictive behaviors, and trained in Somatic Experiencing, a body-oriented therapy approach used to develop self-awareness, emotional capacity and resiliency, and resolve past emotional wounds, and current stress and trauma symptoms.
When healthy, sexual intimacy helps us feel close connection and pleasure in our relationships.
However, when a person obsesses over sexual behaviors as a way to escape unpleasant or painful emotions, healthy behavior can develop into sexual addiction or compulsion.
Technology such as smart phones can also provide unlimited accessibility and virtual anonymity for someone prone to this type of problematic behavior.
If you or someone you care about is struggling with pornography or sexual addiction, we can help.
Robert has had the privilege of professionally helping others for 10 years.
He received his master's degree from Liberty University in 2016.
While studying, Robert had the unique experience of mentoring and providing individual therapy for college students at a university counseling center.
He also spent time interning at public and private community mental health facilities, helping young men and women navigate depression, anxiety, loss, and life-transitions.
Since graduating, Robert has spent time in full-time church ministry providing spiritual care for individuals and couples as well as leading groups related to overcoming behavioral addictions.
When our life doesn't seem to be working the way we would like it to-whether that's due to challenging emotions or troubling thoughts, or we just find ourselves too often in self-destructive behaviors, it can be helpful to reach out and ask for help.
I consider my work a great honor to bear witness to another's suffering, whatever that pain may be or how big or small you believe it to be.
To join you in making sense of your narrative, as our brains have been built to do, is my privilege.
After gaining 11+ years of outpatient program clinical and managerial experience, I decided to focus more specifically on client care through the more traditional role of individual psychotherapy.
