Many times people are able to solve their problems on their own or by talking it over with family and/or friends. There are times however, when we must reach out for professional help. When our solutions are not working and the problems continue or get worse, it may be necessary to take such a step. If you are finding that you cannot find solutions or if you are experiencing emotions that are interfering with your functioning it is time to reach out.
Therapy can assist you with identifying the sources of the problem. There are often many solutions which can be uncovered in the safe, confidential atmosphere of the therapy session. My 40 years experience helping people has prepared me to assist with a variety of problems. If you are troubled with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Grief, Relationship Problems or Family Problems I can help.
I utilize a short term approach which can reduce or eliminate problems rapidly. As a team we can work together to overcome the difficulties that brought you into care.

Services
Many times a client is interested in how the Treatment Process works.
Just how does Counseling work?
In my view, the most important ingredient affecting a positive outcome is the motivation of the client to feel better and/or do better.
The role of the provider is to assist the client in accessing inner strengths and solutions they might not be aware of.
This involves some problem solving discussions to first identify the source of the difficulty.
Also important is the developing of understanding as to what may contribute to or reduce the negative impact of the problem or problems troubling the individual, couple or family.

The helping professions have as their cornerstone the assurance that what a patient shares in a provider's office is held in the strictest confidence.
This confidence allows the patient to be as completely open as is comfortable, thereby sharing information that will more effectively allow the provider to be of assistance.
It is essential that the patient feels this to be a safe and private environment so that the deeper and most private thoughts and concerns can be revealed.
Professional Licensing Boards and the ethics of the helping professions establish guidelines and limits to what may be shared outside the consultation room.
