At Doorways, our team approach to teen and young adult mental health treatment gives us the opportunity to allow for collaboration between psychiatric providers, counselors, and dietitians in order to offer the best possible treatment for adolescents and young adults. Doorways offers various Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) for 13 to 18-year-olds focusing on Eating Disorders, Self Harm, Social Anxiety, OCD, Trauma, DBT/Coping Skills and Family Relationships.
Food restriction, excessive weight loss, binging or purging behavior, body image concerns and low self esteem can contribute to severe physical and emotional distress. DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) is the gold standard for treatment of emotional dysregualtion, poor relationships, self injury, and suicidal thoughts. Depression is a serious mental health problem that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest in activities.
Bipolar symtoms can be mild or severe and can lead to mood swings and dangerous behavior.
