The human experience of identity has two elements; a sense of belonging and a sense of being separate. Florida Family Counselor (FFC) provides individuals, couples, and families with relationship-focused therapy designed to build the skills needed to solve problems and become emotionally strong, skillful, and satisfied in all aspects of life. Our strengths-based and systemic approach helps clients deepen their relationships with themselves and others.
Services
The private practice offices are in the Palm Beach Business Center, which is nestled in the Northpoint Parkway medical-professional corporate park next to OBGYN Specialists of the Palm Beaches.
The counseling offices are centrally located in northern West Palm Beach, Florida, just a minute west of the Interstate 95 45th Street exit.
We are easily accessible to clients living in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, Palm Beach Island, and Lake Worth.
For individuals, I meet for the traditional 55-minute therapy hour.
For couples and families, I meet for a minimum of 60-minutes and up to 75-minutes when needed.
In experiential therapies like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the goal is to connect with your emotional experiences in session and practice new ways of relating here and now, either with yourself or someone else.
I will guide the session to make sure our time is well spent and we stay focused on the important stuff - no endless chatting or venting sessions here.
Besides the family we grew up with, there is no more important and influential relationship in our lives than the one we have with a romantic partner.
When things are working, they provide a sense of safety and security in daily life.
We feel loved and supported, so we can grow to be our best as individuals.
However, when things aren't working in our relationships, it can threaten us to our very core.
We can become chronically angry, depressed, and hopeless about life in general.
Fulfilling relationships take nurturing and investment.
You know something is off, but it's hard to describe.
Your relationships don't feel good right now - too much conflict, not enough confidence, too much doing for others, not enough peace and satisfaction.
You're wondering if something is wrong with you.
Maybe this is a recent change, or maybe you've been struggling with this since you were a kid.
Now, you are ready for change.
You want more from life and yourself, and you're prepared to open yourself up and do the hard work to get it.
I'm here to help guide the way.
Other issues like addiction, mental health or medical problems, and financial worries add extra challenges.
These times put the family's skills to the test.
Our families are supposed to be places of safety and security.
We expect to be able to count on one another.
When we get stuck in the same "dance" of criticizing, fighting, avoiding, and withdrawing, it hurts.
In families, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
Some problems might seem like they belong to just one person in the unit, but our emotional attachments bind us together - whether we're in the same house or miles away.
