A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I provide counseling to adults, children, individuals, families and couples, but I like to think of my work as simply, "Shining a light into your life." In my practice, I draw on over 3000 hours of counseling with individuals (adults, adolescents and children), couples and families to serve those in need of help with depression, anxiety, childhood abuse and neglect, grief and loss, and relationship issues.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Texas Christian University and a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. After receiving my degrees, I spent two years counseling individuals and families to achieve my title as Clinical Social Worker and have been providing counseling services throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area since 2004.
My experience includes over 13 years with Child Protective Services at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services working throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth metro area, where I assumed a supervisory role in 1999.

Services
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am equipped with a variety of therapy models and strategies for helping individuals and families.
Along with these "clinical" tools, I understand the power of providing an empathetic ear.
With me, counseling is a collaborative process that involves building a confidential, unique relationship.
Through this relationship I can shine that light into your life, helping you understand yourself and the world around you better, focusing on thoughts, feelings and behaviors that impact you and your relationship with others.

Counseling and therapy are the same thing - essentially they are forms of "talk therapy, " where we talk through challenges or issues facing individuals, children, adolescents, couples or families.
To help you address your challenges and meet your goals, you must be honest and open.
The counseling relationship works when we connect honestly and I can provide you with guidance and tools that help you to move forward.
Your verbal communication and clinical records are strictly confidential except for: a) information shared with consultants, b) information (diagnosis and dates of service) shared with your insurance company to process your claims, c) information you and/or you child or children report about physical or sexual abuse; then, by Texas State Law, I am obligated to report this to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, d) where you sign a release of information to have specific information shared, e) if you provide information that informs me that you are in danger of harming yourself or others, f) information necessary for case supervision or consultation and g) or when required by law.
