Sally Kennedy, Ph. D
As a licensed psychologist, I work with adolescents and adults who have psychological and emotional health concerns. My goal is to help you learn about yourself by exploring feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Psychotherapy can help you take control of your life and manage personal and relationship difficulties with healthy coping skills. I use a variety of approaches depending on your situation and needs.

Most people who enter psychotherapy do not have serious psychological problems or mental illnesses such as schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders. Therapy can be beneficial for individuals who experience life stresses and conflicts that anyone can experience: relief of anxiety or stress due to work or other situations; conflicts with a partner, friend or family; or major life changes such as death of a loved one, divorce, or job loss.

Please know that I do work with people who have serious psychological problems such as bipolar, major depression, and schizophrenia. Pictured above is our dog, Bebinn, who regularly comes to the office and is in training to be a licensed therapy dog.
Services
What do practicing psychologists do?
Practicing psychologists have the professional training and clinical skills to help people learn to cope more effectively with life issues and mental health problems.
After years of graduate school and supervised training, they become licensed by their states to provide a number of services, including evaluations and psychotherapy.
Psychologists help by using a variety of techniques based on the best available research and consider someone's unique values, characteristics, goals and circumstances.
At some time in our lives, each of us may feel overwhelmed and may need help dealing with our problems.
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, more than 30 million Americans need help dealing with feelings and problems that seem beyond their control -- problems with a marriage or relationship, a family situation, or dealing with losing a job, the death of a loved one, depression, stress, burnout, or substance abuse.
Those losses and stresses of daily living can at times be significantly debilitating.
Psychotherapy is an investment in your current well-being and in your future.
If you do not have health insurance, decide not to make an insurance claim, or if I am not on the provider panel of your insurance company, I will work with you to afford services.
I offer psychotherapy on a sliding fee scale.
The fee for service is based on yearly household income, the number of dependents in the household, and the complexity of the presenting problem.
You will be asked to provide documentation such as tax returns or pay stubs.
Please submit all paperwork AT LEAST two days prior to your first appointment.
Failure to do so will result in rescheduling, as I will need to verify your insurance benefits before the intake.
Please remember that YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL FEES that insurance will not cover.
Please utilize this list to ensure that all forms are submitted to me prior to your appointment.
Please review and sign any applicable Releases of Information below if you wish for me to submit claims to insurance of send statements to a second party.
