I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force who spent 19 years drinking alcohol to cope with trauma, anger, and PTSD. Some experiences were from childhood and some experiences came as an adult and during my time in service. Over the past eleven years I have dedicated my life to helping adolescents, adults, families, and communities who struggle with anger issues, substance use, trauma, PTSD and mental health disorders.
My journey in counseling began in 2010 with me assisting adult men and women with anger, substance use, and mental health disorders in a substance use residential treatment facility. I later gained additional experience in community agencies that focused on substance use and mental health disorders. In this role, I developed and implemented a substance use intervention program to help adolescents in middle and high schools who struggle with anger issues, substance use, trauma, and other mental health disorders.
