Northstar Counseling Center is committed to meeting our community's mental health needs through providing counseling in Louisville, KY to individuals, couples, children and families. The collaborative staff of Northstar seeks to meet each client's needs creatively and compassionately. We combine a variety of approaches and techniques with a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere to skillfully address our clients desire for change and help them meet their unique personal goals.

We are experienced in evidenced based treatment models to address presenting problems such as depression, anxiety, effects of traumatic experience, mental illness, and family and relationship issues. We serve individuals, couples, families, children and teens from all walks of life, and invite self-referrals in addition to referrals from physicians, educators and other sources within our community.

Our comfortable and inviting office is conveniently located the in heart of St. Matthews on Sears Avenue. We warmly welcome clients of all backgrounds regardless of race, age, ethnicity, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, religion, gender, sex, sexual orientation or gender identity.
Services
Northstar Counseling Center is located at 120 Sears Avenue in St. Matthews.
Clients may use the side entrance (Marked "Equus") to access the elevator to the second floor.
We occupy Suites 205, 206, 207, & 214.
Our office is currently offering telehealth and limited in person services, following CDC guidelines for vaccinated individuals.
We are not utilizing lobby spaces at this time, and masks should be worn in common areas.

Carol Ann is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from the University of Kentucky and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Social Work with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville.
In addition to providing therapeutic services, Carol Ann is also passionate about supporting the growth, expansion, and education of Marriage and Family Therapists and is an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor and former adjunct professor at the University of Louisville with the Kent School of Social Work's Master's program in Couple and Family Therapy.
Amanda is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Kentucky.
A Florida native, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and went on to obtain a Master of Science in Social Work with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville.
Amanda's approach to working with others is collaborative and strengths-based, valuing safety and the therapeutic relationship to create change together.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Kentucky, Allison practices from a family systems and relationship focused perspective in her work with clients.
She earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Anderson University and a Master of Science in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family therapy from Campbellsville University.
Allison has experience helping children, adolescents and adults as well as their families.
She is competent and caring in her work with individuals, families and groups including groups for early childhood disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Nikki is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a supervisory designation in both the states of Kentucky and Ohio.
Nikki earned her Master of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling from Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH in 2007.
Nikki is passionate about helping people reach their maximum potential while providing a safe and healing environment to elicit positive change.
Nikki has broad experience working with children and adolescents as well as adults.
Nikki's primary focus is child and adolescent therapy, family therapy and couples counseling.
