Neurofeedback is based on the brain's ability to retrain itself called neuroplasticity. Dr. Paul-Blume uses state of the art computer software and hardware to effect very stable adn non-drug based solutions for many psychological and neurologically based disorders. Over 30 years of peer review research suggests that Neurofeedback solutions for many disorders are long-term and often result in significant reduction or elimination for the need of medications.

Many people come to my practice seeking help for a myriad of psychological and neurological disorders (ADD, ADHD, PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Sleep, etc) having found little or no success with other forms of treatments and medications. Whether it is your first time seeking help or you are discouraged by the lack of prior results, you have come to the right place.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Ventura, CA, and board certified in Neurofeedback. I have been in private practice for over 30 years and bring extensive knowledge, skills, research and tools to assess patient's needs.

BCIA is a non-profit institute that has been an effective advocate for our field.
The American Psychological Association (APA) has recognized biofeedback as a proficiency in professional psychology because of the petition that BCIA filed with them.
BCIA has been dedicated to a singular mission since 1981:"BCIA certifies individuals who meet education and training standards in biofeedback and progressively recertifies those who advance their knowledge through continuing education."
BCIA's biofeedback certification is the only program that is recognized by the three major international membership organizations: the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB), theBiofeedback Foundation of Europe (BFE), and the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research (ISNR).
Neurofeedback or brain wave training is a non-invasive, non-medication alternative which is based on the brain's ability to retrain and heal itself which is called neuroplasticity.
Because of the brain's ability to utilize its neuroplasticity, the brain can learn to respond to healthy patterns and learn how to self-regulate.
Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function.
It allows the brain and the central nervous to function and balance.
Using state of the art computer software, EEG Neurofeedback or EEG Biofeedback teaches the brain to respond to healthy patterns and learn to self-regulate.
Live LORETA Neurofeedback is cutting edge technology that was developed at the Key Institute for Brain Based-Mind Research in Zurich Switzerland by Roberto D. Pascual-Marqui in the mid 1990's.
LORETA ( Low Resolution Electromagnetic Tomography) is an EEG based Neuroimaging technique that is highly correlated with FMRI's, PET Scans and Spect Scans.
The LORETA computes 3 dimensional images of the brain to identify the intracortical and certain subcortical generators of the surface EEG patterns seen in QEEG brain maps.
Attention deficit disorder is a brain/neurological disorder that become increasingly disruptive during childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood.
The structure of the brain is usually normal, but the manner in which the brain is functioning is abnormal in someone with ADD/ADHD.
Neuroscientists have now discovered a brain pattern that allows us to identify individuals with a biological predisposition for developing depression.
This biological marker appears to be very robust, having been replicated many times in brain mapping research utilizing quantitative EEG (QEEG) and neuroimaging.
Attention deficit disorder, learning disabilities and autism are brain/neurological disorders that become increasingly disruptive during childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood.
The structure of the brain is usually normal, but the manner in which the brain is functioning is abnormal in someone with ADD/ADHD or LD, and autism.
People with LD, ADD/ADHD or autism usually have brainwaves characterized by the presence of inefficient, excessive slow brainwave (delta, theta, or alpha) activity.
The brain is simply not operating correctly.
