I know how difficult it can be to find a therapist best suited to your needs or those of your child. My hope is that your search ends here. My name is Hollie French, and I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Lafayette, LA. I set out to create a genuine, supportive relationship with every client I serve so that together we can identify problems and obstacles, develop a plan, and work together to find solutions.
Because none of us can do it all alone. We need one another to thrive, love, heal, and live up to our potential. I will strive to help you or your loved one develop the skills needed to feel more capable to meet life's challenges and demands, and nurture loving, healthy relationships with others.
With children, I aim to assist in increasing their cooperation, developing their confidence, and improving their social skills so that as they continue to grow and develop, they feel they can meet life's challenges and feel more connected to those around them.

ANYONE can benefit from Art Therapy.
Because Art Therapy isn't about making great works of art to sell or hang in a museum.

I take a flexible approach to treatment based on each client's individual needs and goals.
In addition to Art Therapy, I am also experienced in traditional counseling methods.
I utilize a number of therapeutic perspectives, which I tailor to you.
Here is a bit more about some of the approaches I use most often and what I find helpful about each of them.
Research supports using this approach to help with emotional dysregulation/ under-control, chronic suicidal ideation, and self-harming behaviors, among other problems.

I am currently a Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Louisiana Healthcare Connections provider, but may be able to provide out-of-network services, if you have those benefits.
Each service is outlined below to give you a bit more information about what to expect.
In general, however, each session may have a combination of art therapy and talk therapy depending on the client's needs/wishes.
This is a chance for us to meet, discuss the help you're looking for, explore goals, and determine what the next step will be.

I became interested in Art Therapy from the moment I heard of its existence.
It combined my interests in art with my desire to help others.
Art making and other forms of creative expression have always been my "go-to" methods for coping with stress and overcoming difficulties.
Since completing my graduate training, I have loved working with others to help them rediscover and express their inner creativity, increase their awareness of their own strengths, and improve their overall ability to live and grow successfully.
