KCA also welcomes our President Elect, Jason Li, Ph. D., LPC, NCC from Wichita State University and Treasurer, Samantha Holloway, School Counselor. The Kansas Counseling Association (KCA) Provider No. 2017 is offering Continuing Education opportunities for YOU! KCA (Kansas Counseling Association) is a branch of the American Counseling Association (ACA).

It is a non-profit professional association. It serves its members to advance the field of counseling in the broad areas of career, education, and mental health. KCA acts as an umbrella organization for six Regions within Kansas and nine Divisions for all areas of counseling within the state of Kansas. It is imperative more than ever that we work together to support the mental health of all Kansans.

To do this, we must work together and advocate for all the needs of our state.
Services
NC KCA is a region within the Kansas Counseling Association.
Our region of the state includes the following counties but you are free to choose which ever region you wish to join with your membership.
If you would like to join more than one region of the state, you can contact the Executive Director of KCA to add another region to your membership for an additional $5.00.
We have several divisions within the Kansas Counseling Association for your specific interests or your career areas.
Many counselors throughout the state of Kansas are involved in the nine different divisions which all also have their own boards, by-laws, policies, and events.
We encourage all counselors to get involved!
Kansas Association for Adult Development & Aging (KAADA) advocates for adult development and again issues, addresses counseling concerns across the lifetime.
Kansas Association of Addictions & Offender Counselors (KAAOC) advocates the development of effective counseling and rehabilitation programs for people with substance abused problems.
C. Nominee must have been responsible for activities related to counseling, counselor education, or counseling-related service in Kansas.
A.The nominee should possess the personal qualities thought to be desirable in a counselor, counselor educator, or counseling-related professional.
3. Initiation or improvement in counseling, counselor education, or counseling-related services.
Thank you for all your service to the Kansas Counseling Association, the counseling profession, and your communities.
Each region and division can nominate a counselor to participate in the KCA Counselor of the Year Award.
For each division/region, we highlight the award nominees at the KCA/KSCA spring Conference.
A. The nominee must currently be employed as a full-time counselor, counselor educator, or in counseling-related service, and have completed three consecutive years in counseling, counselor education or counseling-related service at the time of nomination.
B. The nominee must hold a minimum of a master's degree in counseling or a related degree and be certified and/or licensed by the state.
Dr. Reagan North is a High School Counselor at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, WA, as well as, an adjunct instructor at Seattle Pacific University.
He has written a book entitled, "Motivational Interviewing for School Counselors" and has presented on the subject at conferences, universities and school districts around the country.
His goal is to train as many school counselors as possible in the use of Motivational Interviewing with their students.
He is excited to rejoin us for our virtual conference this year.
