Nurturing Connections Counseling
Gottman Method Therapy utilized to assist couples towards strengthening Emotional and Physical Intimacy. Nurturing Connections Counseling was established with the purpose of supporting individuals, couples, and families who are faced with challenging situations that often contribute to distress in their lives. As professionals in the mental health field, we provide evidence-based approaches to elicit change from unhealthy patterns of behavior towards healthy coping strategies with effective communication skills.

Every client is provided a safe environment to express their thoughts and emotions with acceptance and no judgment. At Nurturing Connections Counseling, a primary focus of ours is to strengthen romantic relationship bonds and increase emotional connections by utilizing the Gottman Method, which assists in healing and recovery.

In addition, the importance of pre-marital counseling is recognized, therefore we provide the SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) assessment to identify various aspects of a couple's relationship including communication, finances, role expectations, and other areas of importance.
Services
Nurturing Connections currently offers two different options when scheduling counseling appointments.
One option includes sessions with a Licensed Marriage & Family therapist who has completed 3,000 hours of counseling hours and has received their license.
The other option includes sessions with an Associate Marriage Family Therapist, who has the same training and knowledge as the Licensed Therapist, but is currently working towards her 3,000 hours.
Our experienced professionals have both graduated with a Master's degree and gained extensive knowledge in Psychology and counseling.
Choosing the right therapist to provide you with the support, tools, skills, and strategies is a very important step in your journey towards the healing, repairing, and recovery process in your committed relationship.
I provide compassion, understanding, and empathy while working with distressed couples.
My approach when working with couples is to remain neutral by incorporating the "relationship" as my client.
Our journey is to build a "sound relationship house" together by implementing Gottman's interventions within three separate systems: Friendship, Conflict Management, and Shared Meaning.
Through my personal and professional experience, it appears that loss of emotional connection, communication, and financial issues, are the predominant cursers that trigger couples to reach out for assistance from a professional.
As your counselor, I provide empathy to both parties while remaining neutral and focus on enhancing your relationship.
I provide a safe environment for couples to express their frustrations about past experiences that help identify negative patterns preventing your relationship towards healthy patterns.
Provide an integration of biblical passages, parables, and God's help, to find solutions for your present challenges, process past experiences, and gain strength to make positive choices for your future.
With a strong faith-based upbringing, I have a profound desire to help individuals, couples, and families gain their own personal freedoms from life's stressors.
I utilize a Christ-centered approach to provide empathy, understanding, and authenticity helping people with personal and relationship growth.
Individual counseling is a one-on-one therapy session towards improving personal development.
According to Nichols, the goal in this type of setting is to help individuals face their fears and discover how to help themselves (Nichols, 2013, p. 5).
Individual therapy is appropriate when a person complains about feelings of depression or anxiety without a specific event that occurred in their lives.
Nichols mentions that individual therapy may help when a client presents a problem that they've tried to change while their environment stays stable (Nichols, 2013, p. 6) An example of this would be a client in their mid-forties reporting suicidal thoughts without a specific event happening in his life to make him feel this way.
