Compassion Counseling Center seeks to assist those who find themselves struggling with mental or emotional issues and areas of concern in their lives.
At the same time we recognize the need for quality counselors not only in our immediate area, but for all Texas residents.
Thus, we will provide services through students completing their degrees in counseling psychology and other related areas of study.
These students have practiced counseling throughout their time in their respective programs and are now ready to actively counsel the general public.

A promising, talented, kind young woman in our community committed suicide immediately prior to beginning her career as a college freshman in the summer of 2013.
Our community was shocked.
As the community pondered how they missed her inner turmoil, one of the local churches in our community wanted to help prevent this from ever occurring again.
One of the members of that church had recently graduated with a master's in counseling psychology from nearby Tarleton State University.
She knew that capable student counselors often had difficulty finding local agencies and centers where they could complete a 320 hour requirement for counseling clients.
Our community was shocked.
As the community pondered how they missed her inner turmoil, one of the local churches in our community wanted to help prevent this from ever occurring again.

Turn left onto the Northwest Loop.
At the Stephenville High School electronic marquee, make a slight right onto Overhill Drive.

We make it our goal to meet or assist in helping people find solutions to their mental and emotional struggles without incurring unnecessary cost.
However, there are costs that have to be covered in order to operate a counseling center.
Thus, we do charge for our services on a very generous sliding scale basis.
We will ascertain a client's household income range at the first appointment and request the fee associated with that income range.
We make it our goal to meet or assist in helping people find solutions to their mental and emotional struggles without incurring unnecessary cost.
However, there are costs that have to be covered in order to operate a counseling center.

If your health insurance covers counseling as a treatment, we will process that insurance for you!
Please keep in mind that many health insurance plans may only cover a small number of sessions and depending on the issues being discussed in sessions, your counselor may feel that your treatment plan requires a greater number of sessions to meet client treatment goals.
In addition many insurance plans require co-pays and/or deductibles.
Thus, if your household income indicates a fee for each session of counseling and that fee exceeds what is covered by your plan, you will be responsible for paying that session fee (or the outstanding balance) in full at the next counseling session.
