Counseling & psychological testing helping you on your journey to rediscover your whole heart, connect with community, and heal. Are you feeling weighed down by the challenges of life? You may have gone through a season, perhaps a long one, in which plans haven't worked out, you suffered great loss, or you have been left reeling from disappointment and grief.

We all need a place to be real with someone who is safe, will listen to our story and help us make sense of it, and can offer hope, support, and fresh perspective and skills. Once we have a chance to catch our breath in that safe place, we can rediscover our strengths and feel empowered to grow. Arbor Cove Therapy exists to provide both: a resting place and haven for healing and a launching pad for new growth.

We're glad you're here. We provide in-person and online counseling services for individuals, families, and groups. We are an integrative practice using the lenses of interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), attachment theory, and polyvagal theory as the foundation of our work.

Far from just being "little adults, " children possess a developmentally unique way of understanding their world and their place in it.
When they are struggling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues, it is important that therapy adapt to their developmental level and "speak their language" - the language of play - to be most effective.
When we play with someone, our defenses go down and our openness to relationship and new learning increases.
To be able to play with someone is an indication of feelings of safety.
Adolescents need developmentally attuned counseling services that treat them as neither children nor adults.
They are often initially resistant to going to therapy, especially if past experiences have been that it consists solely of lecturing or attempts to change their behavior, rather than an being an opportunity to set their own goals and express their thoughts and feelings to an objective, caring adult who sees past difficult behaviors to underlying pain or confusion.
First and foremost, we work with teens by offering empathy and listening to how they perceive their world - seeking to understand their experiences and their unique perspective on life.
Individual counseling at Arbor Cove Therapy, LLC, offers women a safe place in which they can share burdens and pain, heal from wounds of the past, learn new skills for addressing the problems and challenges of life, connect with themselves and others in more fulfilling ways, and discover renewed energy and sense of purpose.
Depending on the needs and goals of each woman, couples and family sessions take place in addition to individual therapy, to explore family dynamics and enlist the support of family members in helping you achieve your goals.
