The mission of the Faulk Center for Counseling is to promote emotional well-being through a variety of free and low-cost programs for counseling, therapy, and support. At the Faulk Center, we provide a warm, accepting and confidential environment where people who are dealing with life's problems are helped to make changes or to cope more effectively with things that they cannot change.

Since 1973 the Center has provided a variety of counseling services to people of all ages at its facility on Boca Rio Road and at outreach locations throughout Palm Beach and Broward counties. Mental health services are provided by graduate students pursuing master's degrees or doctoral degrees in psychology, social work or mental health counseling, as well as clinical volunteers who hold advanced degrees in a mental health field.

All graduate students and volunteers are trained and supervised by the Center's staff of licensed psychologists. Dr. Elizabeth H. Faulk, the first woman to receive a Ph. D. in psychology from the University of Florida, established a successful private practice in Boca Raton.
Services
The Faulk Center for Counseling provides free and low-cost counseling services to people of all ages, from children to the elderly.
Group, individual, and family therapy is provided using a variety of treatment modalities.
Clinical services are provided by graduate students in training and volunteer mental health professionals under the close supervision of licensed psychologists.
Services and programs are available at our location in Boca Raton, and at off-site locations in various senior communities and local schools.
The Center offers several adult therapy groups at different times during the week.
Our therapy groups do not have a specific theme, but rather bring together adults from diverse backgrounds experiencing a range of life's problems.
Through the use of an interpersonal approach, clients are given the opportunity to both give and receive feedback with regards to their presenting issues and concerns.
Through the group process, clients gain a broader perspective on their issues and benefit from increased self-awareness.
An integral part of the Faulk Center for Counseling is the clinical training of future mental health professionals.
Graduate students from around the country apply to our doctoral psychology internship, social work internship, and practicum programs.
The Center offers graduate students a unique and dynamic learning experience in which trainees may develop their professional and personal identities.
Students receive intensive training in humanistic, client-centered therapy, but also learn and practice other psychological theories and techniques in a variety of settings with various populations.
Our "First Wednesdays" mental health lecture series is open to the general community.
This series of presentations is an opportunity for members of the community to learn about mental health issues and topics.
First Wednesday presentations are free of charge.
Those guests seeking to become clinical volunteers are also invited to stay for lunch ($8 per person), meet the Center's volunteers, and learn more about the Center.
Current Faulk Center for Counseling clients and those who have been clients within the past six months are not eligible to become clinical volunteers, and thus should not attend the volunteer lunch.
My Generation: A Discussion Group for Older Adults & Teens provides an opportunity for senior citizens and high school students to come together to share experiences on a variety of topics.
