College is a time of growth, change, and transition and both college and graduate school can be incredibly stressful. The Biola Counseling Center wants to ensure that students at Biola University feel well-supported as they strive to attain higher education and find their places as productive members of their communities. The Biola Counseling Center provides outpatient mental health and psychological testing services to residents of southern California.

BCC strives to ensure that those persons who turn to us for support receive the highest level of care possible. Biola Counseling Center offers psychotherapeutic services for children and adolescents.
Services
Rosemead School of Psychology was independently founded in 1968 to train clinical psychologists from a Christian perspective.
In 1977, Rosemead merged with Biola University moving its Psy.
D. and Ph.
D. programs in clinical psychology onto Biola's La Mirada campus.
Both academic programs were accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) in 1980 and have received continuous accreditation, including the most recent in 2019 for a full ten years.
In 2000, Rosemead founded the Institute for Research on Psychology and Spirituality (IRPS) to promote research on the interrelationships between psychology, theology and spirituality.
The Biola Counseling Center is a mental health facility that provides psychological services to La Mirada, CA and surrounding communities.
BCC also serves the faculty, staff, and students of Biola University.
The majority of BCC therapists are associated with Biola University's Rosemead School of Psychology, either as clinical faculty or doctoral students who are supervised by licensed clinical psychologists.
Doctoral Intern therapists at the BCC come from Rosemead as well as several other APA-Accredited doctoral programs in psychology.

The receptionist will request some basic information about the reasons you are seeking therapy, as well as your preferences for appointment times and the type of therapist you prefer to see.
Your assigned therapist will contact you within approximately 5 to 7 business days to schedule an initial appointment.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your initial appointment in order to complete necessary paperwork.

The center is located directly across the street from Starbucks and shares its parking areas with a Presbyterian Intercommunity Health building.
The counseling center can be reached easily by walking or driving, or via cycling or taking the Biola shuttle.
Biola University students, faculty, and staff are able to receive services from a pre-licensed therapist at a reduced rate.
Community clients seeking psychotherapy with a pre-licensed therapist will be charged a session fee determined by a standard sliding scale rate based on income.
Fees for psychological testing are highly individualized based on the needs of the client.
Our office staff is able to discuss costs during a potential client's initial call to the center.
