While a person who is suffering from repeated emotional or interpersonal difficulties can feel better after a good talk with a friend or relative, relief is often only temporary. Talking with a trained counselor can help alleviate emotional distress and provide lasting solutions. At Psychological Assessment & Treatment Specialists (PATS), we're here to listen.

We're here to help. PATS provides several tools that simplify this process and allow you to get to know our counselors and their areas of expertise better. Visit our About Us section and learn more about each therapist or come meet us in person! You can schedule a free, no obligation 15-minute consultation with any of our counselors to help you make your decision.

We know it takes courage to seek help, and promise to give you the support and fresh ideas you need. Don't wait any longer; call or e-mail our therapists today. Convenient to all communities in the North Utah County region including: American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Cedar Hills, Orem, Lehi, Alpine, Highland, Saratoga Springs, & Eagle Mountain.
Services
Out-of-Network Benefits: Many insurance plans have provider panels, which are the professionals whose services the plan will pay the maximum benefit for.
Some plans allow members to "swing out" of the panel and see any provider they choose.
The main disadvantage of going outside your network is that you may have to pay a deductible, or a higher deductible, and your co-payment is often higher than if you use a provider who is in the network (i.e., on your plan's panel).
Pre-authorization of services: Some plans require you, the member, to call in advance of your appointment to receive authorization (e.g., payment) for a covered service.

What types of mental health professionals are there, and what's the difference between them?.
People seek counseling (also known as psychotherapy, or therapy for short) for any number of reasons.
The common factor all these reasons share is that symptoms or difficulties persist or worsen over time.
Counseling can help if you find yourself engaging in a pattern of behavior, thinking, or feeling that just won't change.
Too, counseling is a good option for those whose attitudes or thinking are negative or otherwise destructive.
