It is a form of bilateral stimulation that helps our brains reprocess past traumatic events and push them back into our memory where they belong.
The outcome of doing EMDR leads people to feeling more in control of their emotions in the moment, less anxious and more hopeful for the future.
I do EMDR with little hand tappers, so my clients can relax and close their eyes during the reprocessing.
Clients have reported gaining greater insight into what the deeper issues are that are keeping them stuck, less reactivity to certain stimuli, reduced anxiety and depression.
