I am the owner of Brookhaven and a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Utah, with over 20 years of experience in working with adults, teens, children and families in various settings. I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been practicing in this field for 20 years. I have a great deal of experience working with attachment needs, grief and loss, betrayal, trauma and bonding.

I am a therapist and certified social worker. I have been working in this field for about 3 years. I truly honor your courage and willingness to begin your journey of healing by looking for a therapist. I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Utah and am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker. I approach therapy from a strengths-based perspective.

That is to say, I believe within every client lies the capacity to tap into their own inner resources to heal and to find solutions to their life's challenges. I'm the administrative assistant at Brookhaven Counseling & Wellness. I am currently in the bachelor of social work program at Utah Valley University.
Services
We accept cash, check, debit or credit card.
HSA cards can be used.
Payment is due at time of service.
We can also bill clergy, including LDS bishops, with written authorization from the clergy prior to the first session.
We do not bill insurance plans directly.
We will gladly provide documentation, at your request, that you can submit for possible reimbursement to your insurance company, if you have an out of network benefit on your plan.
To find out if your insurance provides reimbursement for services, we suggest that you contact them directly and inquire if you have a "mental health out of network" benefit.
The good news is, there are effective, evidence based treatments that CAN get to the root of the problem.
You can heal.
However, it is important to know that not all therapists are trained to help you through your trauma.
Working through these issues can be tricky, and it is imperative that your therapist understand how to keep you safe through the process.
Trauma therapy is one of our specialties.
If you know or suspect that you are dealing with unresolved trauma, contact us so we can discuss treatment options with you.
We all have profound needs for safety, belonging and to be accepted and valued by others.
The patterns we establish to get these needs met begin to form as we are infants, in response to the interactions we have with our caregivers and the world around us.
These patterns are played out over and over, again and again in our closest relationships, through childhood and into adulthood.
Certain types of patterns bring a sense of safety, confidence and well being into our lives and relationships, while others can lead to pain, confusion, and unfulfilled needs and expectations.
Loss is a universal human experience.
Grief is how we respond to loss, particularly when we lose someone or something that we care deeply about.
Grief is a difficult, but natural process that helps us adapt to the changes that loss brings to our lives.
Sometimes, we adjust to loss with the support of our friends, family, and community and require no further assistance.
Grief in and of itself is not an illness requiring intervention.
It is a natural and healing experience.
Sometimes though, grief is complicated by factors such as multiple losses, unresolved relationship issues, traumatic experiences, suicide, unexpected death, the loss of a child, or any number of factors, that can overwhelm and prevent you from making progress in your grief journey.
Addiction is a complex disease that requires individualized treatment.
Addiction refers not only to a dependence on substances, but also includes behaviors such as pornography and gambling.
Treatment for addiction involves not only allowing the brain and the body to heal, but also changing thought and behavior patterns as well as treating any underlying issues and triggers.
Changing thought and behavior patterns may involve building a safe place for yourself through self-compassion, mindfulness, acceptance, setting healthy boundaries, and replacing unhealthy behaviors with healthy ones.
