Maximum Health
Maximum Health LLC is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and is owned by Kristy Eckhoff-Speck. My history includes working with adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, struggle to manage their anger, and experience issues with depression, anxiety, self-esteem and grief and loss. I also work with couples who are struggling to make their relationship "work".

I specialize in coaching parents of children with attention deficit or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, equipping them with effective and successful parenting strategies. My goal is to be able to assist my clients in identifying what their past and/or current issues are and help them learn how to manage them. I believe in providing a safe and honest environment for my clients which will help them grow emotionally.

I have been in the counseling field since 1994 providing marriage counseling, ADD/ADHD coaching and mental health therapy in the Sioux Falls, Brandon, and Harrisburg areas. Life is difficult. With everyday stress such as work, personal life, relationship issues, parenting, etc; it can often seem overwhelming.

Anxiety is a normal and healthy emotion all people experience.
It signals us to be alert to important situations and to be ready for impending danger.
But when worry and fear become significantly more intense than is warranted and begin to interfere with life functions, anxiety disorder is likely the reason.
Depression is different from anxiety.
Rather than feeling anxious and nervous, feelings of gloom and melancholy overwhelm.
Feeling sad or down after experiencing a loss or disappointment is an emotion that everyone feels at one time or another.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a condition that often develops after a devastating event of some kind.
It is commonly associated with veterans who have served in active duty and those who have lived through natural disasters or massive violent events; however, it can also develop after the death of a loved one or even after a traumatic hospital stay or vehicle accident.
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder recovery can be a completely unique experience for every person.
This is primarily because the experiences that led to your PTSD were unique to you, and your reactions to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder are also unique to you.
There is no one "right" way to grieve, and there is no way to anticipate exactly how the feelings of sadness, anger, loss, and loneliness will heal and resolve.
Some have described the grieving process as a roller coaster, filled with highs and lows.
Over time the roller coaster evens out so the highs and lows are more manageable, but the big ups and downs can reappear, especially at important family events, anniversaries, holidays, or other special occasions.
People who have suffered grief do say that it will get better with time and the support of friends and loved ones.
Relationship counseling can be beneficial to couples who are looking to strengthen their emotional connection, in all stages of their relationship.
Therapy sessions are held with both individuals and couples and is a supportive place to discuss issues and solutions to better strengthen your relationship.
With all of the added stress of working in the digital age, the ubiquitous interruptions of social media, and the breakneck pace at which our lives are now lived, cultivating a good relationship with your spouse or loved one may seem like a herculean task.
Life transitions often bring people much joy - marriage, a new baby or a promotion are examples of life transitions that bring happiness and fulfillment.
However, transitions like a divorce, death of a family member or friend or the loss of a job can be extremely difficult to navigate.
Many clients come to therapy when they find themselves in the crossroads of important decisions or in the midst of inevitable life changes or transitions.
Most people pride themselves for having the ability to make important decisions on their own and flawlessly navigate through life's ups and downs.
