Services
Odyssey Counseling provides the following services and programs on an individual and group basis:.
Leaving an inpatient facility is a critical moment for everyone.
We provide the supportive environment needed to transition back to the demands of the outside world.
Our outpatient counseling is a structured therapy encounter of a fixed number of hours per week.
For those who need even more support, we offer intensive therapy that involves nine to 10 hours a week.
With our help, you gain knowledge and insight to trust your inner strengths to become independent.
Do you have feelings of helplessness, low self-esteem, shame, guilt, anxiety, depression, sadness, anger or difficulty in relationships?
At Odyssey Counseling, we don't treat the problem on the surface, we treat the whole person.
The real you.
We can help you gain insight into why you think the way you do, feel the way you do, and how best to respond to what is happening to you!
First we try to understand where you are in your life, what you need at this time, and what you want or expect from us.
Odyssey Counseling specializes in providing outpatient treatment for individuals who have completed in-patient residential programs.
We offer flexible adaptation to continuing treatment programs which began at your location and now will be moving to ours.
We do not have rigid one-size-fits-all procedures but are adept at "picking up where you leave off."
Our founder Mark Henning has traveled across America and Canada visiting more than 50 facilities as an Accreditation Specialist for CARF.
From inner-city programs to Native American and Hawaiian dual diagnosis and substance abuse treatment centers, he has had the unique opportunity not only to visit with different approaches but also to evaluate them.
Odyssey's lead counselors are a talented team of professionals with decades of experience, specializing in treating dual-diagnosis patients and related areas.
Here are their biographical backgrounds in brief:.
CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) Accreditation Specialist for Residential facilities, Crisis centers, and Intensive Outpatient treatment for profit and non-profit agencies.
Bachelor's degree and graduate work in addictions completed at East Carolina University, focusing on Developmental Psychology.
To be a preferred provider for accessible, responsive, and integrated substance use and co-occurring disorder therapeutic treatments.
Substance use and co-occurring disorders interact and operate within a multidimensional social, emotional, and thinking world.
Each level of interaction produces outcomes that shape future perceptions and decisions.
This interaction takes place in person-to-person, individual and family experiences, and person-to-community exchanges.
Though the individual can create or mitigate risks alone, in the short term, it is more likely that an individual will learn and live a productive life using a broad network of supports, personal autonomy, effective skills, and positive self-awareness.
