I love the challenge of working with people who are still not living up to their potential after years of sincere effort to heal and to change their lives. When we find what's needed and things begin to change, I get excited! That's what I live for as a therapist. I combine compassionate listening with the latest techniques for transforming lives, techniques that find and eliminate the traumas and subconscious early learnings that affect the way we live our lives.

D. is in psychology from U.C., Berkeley, and I am licensed as a clinical psychologist to practice psychotherapy in New Mexico (0965) and California (PSY4223). I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over 40 years, eight of those years in Taos. Although I draw from many approaches, those I have found most effective are DOBT (Depth Oriented Brief Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Mindfulness is at the heart of each approach. The problems I see most are depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, over-reactive emotions, and trauma.
