Services
At Sunray Family Counseling, we believe in providing a safe environment for healing and connection through science-backed therapy solutions.
Since our inception more than a decade ago, we've helped hundreds of individuals and families navigate their unique struggles and circumstances.
Our highly trained therapists specialize in children, adolescents, individuals, and family needs.
We're the go-to experts for a variety of needs and populations.
To better serve our community, we employ a team of talented clinicians across 4 locations along with several administrative staff members.
Play Therapy provides children a safe and welcoming space where they can explore past traumas and other complicated issues in a non-invasive manner.
Through this path and others, we help children gain confidence, develop coping strategies, and experience healing.
EMDR is a powerful and efficient therapy model used to treat trauma and other issues, such as depression, various anxieties, pain management, domestic violence, weight loss, and more.
EMDR strategically mirrors the eye movement we experience during long-term memory processing in a REM cycle to help reprocess past events and make progress toward recovery.
Play Therapy provides children a safe and welcoming space where they can explore past traumas and other complicated issues in a non-invasive manner.
Through this path and mediums like Expressive Arts and Sand Tray Therapy, we help children gain confidence, develop coping strategies, and experience healing.
In our therapy sessions, we provide parents with the opportunity to support their child in their treatments.
We firmly believe that the presence of a loving and supportive parent can lead to a more significant and longer-lasting change for the child and the family unit.
EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy model seen in use both nationally and internationally (EMDRIA).*
It claims that most of our emotional and physical complaints stem from negative memories that we have not yet correctly processed into our long-term memory.
At night, our eyes quickly move back and forth during a REM cycle as we process our memories.
EMDR strategically mirrors this eye movement to help individuals reprocess past events that currently affect their way of life.
EMDR is effective for many different issues such as abuse, trauma, depression, anxiety, social anxiety, pain management, domestic violence, weight loss, and more.
Experiential therapy can include Expressive Art, Sand Tray therapy, and more.
Sand Tray therapy allows clients to express themselves on a deeper level.
Through representative sand tray figures, an individual can better connect to a deeper awareness regarding their struggles and potentially communicate more meaningful or even symbolic information to the therapist.
If a person were to tell you about their mother or father, there would likely be a limitation on the information shared.
However, if that same individual were to pick out sand tray figures representing their father and mother, it would potentially help them better connect to a deeper awareness regarding their parents.
