We are still open! To protect the health and well-being of our clients and staff, all services continue to have the option for telehealth at this time. Journeys of Healing provides individual counseling and play therapy services for children, adolescents and families. We offer developmentally appropriate therapeutic services that allow both children and adults to express themselves, grow and move toward healing.

We are passionate about supporting children and families through life's ups and downs.

Play Therapy is a powerful tool in which play is used as means of helping children express or communicate their feelings.
We work in a therapeutic playroom with a variety of tools including puppets, art activities, sand, dolls and many other tools.
Play Therapy is designed to allow children to communicate their inner most worlds, through their natural language, play.
Play therapy is an appropriate intervention to address a variety of cognitive, behavioral and emotional challenges.
Play therapy can support children in processing their experiences and develop effective strategies to cope with their worlds.
Sharon has trained on-site at the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University under Dr. David Cross.
TBRI is a family-based intervention that is designed for children who have experienced relationship-based traumas such as institutionalization, multiple foster placements, maltreatment, and/or neglect.
Because of their histories, it is often difficult for these children to trust the loving adults in their lives, which often results in perplexing behaviors.
TBRI offers practical tools for parents, caregivers, teachers, or anyone who works with children, to see the "whole child" in their care and help that child reach his highest potential.
Upon arrival at the Journeys of Healing Clinic, you and your child will be given a tour to familiarize yourselves with our offices.
The first appointment will be 50-90 minutes in length, providing the therapist an opportunity to discuss concerns, symptoms and strengths with the child's caregiver/s as well as to observe the child.
The therapist will then complete a diagnostic assessment describing the need for and appropriateness of therapeutic intervention.
This assessment will be reviewed with child's caregiver/s at the following session.
