Person to Person was established in 2000 to provide mental health and substance abuse evaluations and counseling to the South Metro Atlanta, Georgia, area. We treat a variety of problems, including depression, anxiety, anger, marriage & family problems, and alcohol & drug issues in adults. It is our mission to provide a safe, nonjudgmental, therapeutic environment to adult men and women suffering from the negative effects of alcohol and drug use.

At Person to Person, we utilize evidenced based treatment techniques to include Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and EMDR Therapy.
Clients are able to practice coping and recovery skills while living at home and within their own community.

Topics addressed include post-acute withdrawal syndrome, relapse prevention, breaking through denial, medical aspects of addiction, letting go of high-risk behavior, family function and dysfunction, cognitive restructuring, parenting, and codependency.

Most people who seek evaluations for substance abuse do so to comply with a Court Order or upon the recommendation of their attorney prior to a court appearance.
An evaluation consists of a verbal interview, combined with one or more written tests.
When you arrive at the evaluation appointment, you will be given a personal history form to complete and the written test(s) will be administered.
You will then sit down with an evaluator for a personal interview which will include your medical, family, educational, legal and employment history.

Any employee who tests positive for alcohol above certain limits, or who tests positive for a controlled substance must seek an evaluation by a qualified "Substance Abuse Professional" or "SAP".
The SAP is qualified by 1) holding certain credentials which indicate they have sufficient training or education to provide such evaluations, 2) attending a training on DOT rules which has been approved by the Department of Transportation, and 3) passing a qualifying exam.
