My mission is to have you out there living your life doing whatever it is you want to do, having a good time. Returning to civilian life can be joyful or difficult but also stressful. Some Veterans miss the structure of military life and a sense of purpose. Civilian life may feel lonely and isolating. Compartmentalization may have helped you stay strong during traumatic events but may prove less useful in civilian life.
I have been helping Veterans for the past ten years. As a clinical psychologist raised in a military family, father in Air Force and brother in Army, I am honored to assist Veterans with mental health or transition needs. Traumatic experiences are deeply distressing and disturbing. They can overwhelm one's ability to cope, integrate emotions and reconcile discrepancies with core beliefs.
If you have experienced trauma, you may have nightmares, a sense of being in danger, struggling with emotions and feeling confused, helpless and vulnerable. I am trained in several evidenced based trauma therapies and will work with you for successful recovery.
