I am currently offering online sessions. The site I use is HIPAA compliant, and given the situation, paperwork for new clients will be minimal. Self care is especially important right now. The healthier we are individually, the better we are able to bring health and balance to our families and communities. Though we live in a crazy, unpredictable and stress-inducing world, we all have the potential to find greater peace and new perspective.
The challenges we naturally face at various stages of our lives with transitions, relationships, and identity issues can be met with strength and flexibility, and increased self understanding. For both children and adults, the development of a healthy, therapeutic relationship can provide the necessary space to work through self-defeating thoughts and patterns, and to develop essential tools that can make all the difference in navigating through life.
It is my desire to provide a place of safety and acceptance in which people may explore their feelings, process current and past experiences, and come to a better understanding of themselves.

Services
I have studied many theories of psychology, such as CBT, person-centered, mindfulness, gestalt, and more.
I do not adhere to just one theory, but discuss with my clients what they need and are looking for.
We start from there.
Talk therapy is a large part of my practice, but I also have more creative and expressive options available.
I have toys and art supplies for children, and for any interested adults.
I also offer Sandplay Therapy to all ages, which I have found to be particularly profound in my practice.

Sandplay uses two trays of a particular size filled with sand (one dry, and one damp with water) and a variety of miniatures that can be placed in the tray to create a scene or image.
In this very simple act of creation, the trays provide a means of expressing and processing experiences and feelings that bypass the thinking brain and access more of the subconscious.
This can bring to light what is not otherwise visible.
Healing can come, not from the interpretation of the "completed" Sandtray, but in the expression of the image itself.

I believe that much of healing has to do with sorting through perhaps unconscious beliefs about ourselves and others, and creating space to experience the world differently.
This is often a spiritual journey.
I believe that finding our internal essence gives us the ability to work through challenges in our lives that are keeping us from the fullest and most productive experiences that life has to offer.

Sandplay therapy is available for any interested client, as it has become a passion for me.
I regularly engage in consultation with other Sandplay therapists and continue my training in this modality.
I also plan on continuing with my international involvement in the Sandplay community.
I am amazed at the way in which Sandplay therapy is a universal "language" and cuts across cultural differences.
During my internship with USF, I worked for a year at an inpatient rehab facility for women addicted to drugs and alcohol.
