Services
Do you, your child, or your partner identify as trans, nonbinary, or gender-nonconforming? Have you struggled to feel seen or understood by family members or loved ones who have questioned your choices?
Perhaps you're starting to question your gender identity and don't even know where to begin.
It may feel as though there are endless barriers in the way of you examining the questions you have about yourself.
And even if you have already come to a conclusion about transitioning, you may not have access to necessary resources or support networks that are essential to the process.

Gay (LGBTQIA+) Affirming Counseling asserts that the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, questioning, intersex, asexual + experience is normal and healthy.
It is not fringe, unusual and you do not need help/therapy because you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual.
Living in a world that does not often validate who you are or your experiences causes challenges and distress.
Living and working in environments that are aggressive and hostile towards who you are or erases your existence causes pain and discomfort.

The teenage years are a normal time of transition, pulling away from parents and turbulence.
But when does that veer away from what is considered normal?
And how do you as the parent know?
How can you best support your child?
Finding a therapist who is able to navigate family therapy; seeing your teenager in individual therapy and bringing you in for family therapy is vital.

I have been working with kids, teens, families and adults since 2004.
I received a Master's degree in Counseling from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2004.
The initial motivation that propelled me to become a counselor was to help kids who were abused and did not have any caring, supportive adults in their lives.
I was able to do that for years through Intensive In-home Family Counseling in North Carolina and, at times, I was the only trusted, caring person in a child's life.
