Couples choose to work with me because I have many years of specialized training and experience. As your relationship coach, I will help you to have better communication, more joy, and increased connection. In 2003 I established a full-time private practice in Campbell, California. Having now moved north to beautiful Sonoma County, I have redesigned my work with clients as tele-therapy, using Skype and FaceTime.
Counseling and helping others has not only been my chosen profession, but continues to be an occupational calling. Therapy and counseling in my practice is a multi-step process beginning with a call, text or email from you, requesting information. My aim will be to help you decide what problems you want to focus on and once we finish our initial session you'll have clear goals and a plan to achieve those goals.
Judy McFarland, LMFT is an experienced and most importantly, a highly effective therapist. She is genuinely caring, fair-minded and ethical. Her expertise makes her a stand-out among therapists, in fact I would put her in the top 5%.

The good news is that relationships can be improved if both partners want to work on it, even if only one partner comes to sessions.
What does that mean?
Without trying to predict exactly how it will work, since every couple is unique, I can offer some insight into the process.
Couples come to counseling with a variety of issues - "We fight all the time, but we never resolve anything", or "We are friends, but there's no passion or romance", or "We can't communicate", or "There's no closeness or intimacy - I'm so lonely in this relationship" - are just a few of the difficulties often described to me.

Feeling down from time to time is a normal part of life.
But when emptiness and despair take hold and won't go away, it may be depression.
More than just the temporary "blues, " the lows of depression make it tough to function and enjoy life like you once did.
Hobbies and friends don't interest you like they used to; you're exhausted all the time; and just getting through the day can be overwhelming.
When you're depressed, things may feel hopeless, but with help and support you will feel better.

It's estimated that approximately 1 in 6 couples struggle with not being able to get pregnant.
It can be a time of isolation and depression - the sense that one is being left out, the frustration, the feeling of being punished, the realization that we grew up taking for granted that we would be parents, and now our bodies are betraying us.
One of the most challenging aspects of the infertility experience is dealing with the emotional ups and downs relating to medical treatment, the uncertainty about outcomes, and the challenge of having to make important decisions such as when "enough is enough."
