Services
I have a Graduate degree from Whitworth College of Spokane, WA in Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University in Applied Psychology.
I've had training in affective, cognitive, and behavioral therapies through various classes, trainings, and workshops.
I've been practicing as a counselor since 1987.
I enjoy working with adults in individual, couple, and group settings, as well as with adolescents.
After three grueling years of illness, my first husband died of cancer at the age of thirty-three.
PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) is a combination of a number of symptoms that include panic attacks, anxiety, flashbacks, sleep problems, busy mind, trust issues, and even anger and depression.
Common causes of PTSD are childhood abuse-physical, sexual and even emotional; also other forms of trauma include combat war, car accidents and domestic violence.
The most effective, permanent PTSD treatment is EMDR treatment (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing).
I'll tell you all about EMDR treatment and how it can bring you back to yourself.
I use EMDR treatment extensively in my counseling practice, and have witnessed hundreds of people healing from trauma and finding the inner peace we all seek.
EMDR is an integrative process that was developed by Francine Shapiro, Ph.
D. in 1987.
Many thousands of psychotherapists and counselors have been trained in EMDR since then and are very pleased with the clinical results.
There are over 70,000 such clinicians worldwide and growing.
EMDR is a process that promotes the integration of traumatic experiences into our sense of well-being.
Eating Disorders are rampant.
Patterns developed in childhood, along with being shamed for being over or under weight, keep these patterns from changing.
Being at an unhealthy weight effects self-esteem, health problems., i.e., diabetes, high BP, digestive issues and more.
You can experience weight loss and maintain this weight loss, however, it does require understanding that compulsive overeating is an addiction.
Eating Disorder Counseling can help you to overcome these challenges and get on the road to a healthy lifestyle.
EMDR treatment for alcohol addiction counseling is not only great for alleviating anxiety, depression and PTSD (posttraumatic stress disorder) symptoms.
It is also a very quick and effective way to become addiction-free from any and all addictive chemicals or compulsive behaviors.
As an EMDR alcohol addiction counselor, my goal is to help you overcome addictions quickly and effectively.
EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) treatment utilizes the power of the subconscious mind to help you stop the compulsive, negative behavior, just like hypnotherapy does, but without long inductions.
