My therapeutic style is relational, warm, and collaborative. I am passionate about working with those looking for change. I work with children, teens, and young adults who are going through challenges, as well as parents/guardians who desire coaching. I am excited about the possibility of meeting you and/or your child. As a counselor, I provide a safe space where together we can slow down, connect, and create change.

I use my experience of 30 years working with children and families to create this safe space. Children's developmental needs, academic and social needs, and societal influences impact the way our children respond to the challenges around them. I utilize expressive therapies, such as art and play therapy, to help a child work through difficult emotions.

I also create a safe, non judgmental space for parents and guardians. I believe that we all do the best we can with the tools we have. At times, we need to be reminded of the tools we have, throw out tools that aren't working, or find new tools to serve ourselves and our family better.
Services
I bring over thirty years of work with children and families to my practice.
My background includes work in public schools, private schools, schools abroad, adolescent wilderness therapy, homeless shelters, family crisis center, along with weed pulling, babysitting, and dishwashing.
My experiences shape my work and help me understand that life isn't always as we planned and that growth often comes from the hardest of times.
As a parent, I am in awe at the depth of love I have for my children and humbled by the intense challenges being a family brings.
My therapeutic style is relational, warm, and collaborative.
I am passionate about working in a playful, interactive way with children to learn about who they are.
I am honored to work with those looking for change - in family interactions, in parenting, and with helping a child understand their own thoughts, behaviors, and patterns.
In working alongside the child's caregivers, I align insight with action to find concrete, yet mindful ways to create lasting change.
I strongly believe in Alfred Adler's theory, that we all want to feel a sense of belonging and purpose.
I RECOMMEND THE FOLLOWING BOOK FOR ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS, REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH: THE POWER OF SHOWING UP by Daniel Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson.
This book came out in 2020 and is a culmination of much research.
If you do not want to read it, but still want the information, please check out the podcasts on this book.
A few of my favorites are Tilt Parenting with Tina Payne Bryson and Zen Parenting Radio with Daniel Siegel.
