Psychotherapy is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between an individual and a therapist. Grounded in dialogue, it provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who's objective, neutral and nonjudgmental. The most important elements of effectiveness in therapy are human and relational.

In other words, finding a therapist that is warm, caring, empathetic, knowledgeable, and is able to interact with you in a way that is healing is going to be most effective in changing your life.My mission is to ensure that you have individualized treatment so that you don't feel like "just another client". Therapy doesn't necessarily have to be a dry, clinical experience.I try to invigorate your time with conversation that feels driven and lively so that you're getting therapy without feeling "under the microscope".
Services
I'm a private practice therapist focused on giving personalized care to each individual or couple so you don't feel like "just another client".
I graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2006.
I then moved on to graduate from Capella University in 2012 with my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Counseling.
As a LGBTQ+ identified and allied individual, I have a sincere passion for helping the community.
I have also had success working with couples that have trouble with conflict resolution.
I realize that no two people are the same and tailor your therapeutic experience to meet your needs.
This can change from session to session, however your treatment plan will not change.
Working collaboratively to reach your goals is important to me.
I encourage open and honest communication about your satisfaction regarding treatment and your treatment goals.
This is not a complete list of services Longson Therapy provides.
If you have a specific concern not listed above, please contact me and I will assist if possible.
Email me for therapy information, questions & comments, including those about the types of insurance I take, fees, or anything else you need answered.
Therapy doesn't necessarily have to be a dry, clinical experience.
I try to invigorate your time with conversation that feels driven and lively so that you're getting therapy without feeling "under the microscope".
One type of therapy I use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Through a system of goal oriented practices we will work together to get your life back on track.
Whether you need help with codependency, communication, or self esteem; therapy can help.
However, I often use a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems to help individuals and couples access parts of themselves that they may otherwise have trouble working on.
Therapy doesn't necessarily have to be a dry, clinical experience.
Could you use an expert opinion on what you're going through, or a non-judgemental ear just to listen?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you've been seeking.
Individual therapy differs from group or alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.
If you've been feeling hopeless or lost lately, or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, individual therapy could help you improve your everyday life.
