These pages describe the services - counseling and psychological assessment - that I offer to adults, adolescents, and older children. I have office hours in Beulah and Traverse City. Almost all insurances that cover outpatient mental health will reimburse you at least in part for seeing me, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Magellan, Medicare, Cofinity, Priority Health, and others.
Payment plans are also available. Please call or send an e-mail if you have questions or would like to set an appointment. I generally have office hours in Beulah on Monday and Wednesday and in Traverse City on Tuesday and Thursday.

Services
Our feelings have many ways of telling us that our lives need attention.
Sadness, anger, confusion, fatigue - these can be invitations to change.
The process can be simple but not easy.
Sometimes it's not even simple.
But I invite you to a safe, respectful, supportive place where we can understand what brought you here and can work together to attain your goals.
I often suggest mindfulness-based approaches to reduce anxiety, decrease stress, improve mood, and increase self-regulation skills.
My work is grounded in meditation practices as well as in developmental psychology (especially attachment theory).

Sometimes we have trouble understanding ourselves.
A generally kind and generous person repeatedly gets into trouble for shoplifting.
A depressed person does not improve despite counseling and medication.
A seemingly bright student has learning problems at school.
Sometimes others need information in order to make an administrative decision.

A patient asks an insurance company to pay for a stressful medical procedure.
An employee asks to return to work after a blowup at the office.
