We provide licensed, evidence-based counseling for individuals and couples. Telehealth sessions are available. We are in-network with Premera of Alaska, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, MODA, PacificSource and EBMS. Out-of-network insurances are also accepted and discounted self-pay rates are available for those without insurance.

Even pre-pandemic there was convincing research showing the many benefits of telehealth.
But if the thought of meeting online feels impersonal or makes you nervous, I encourage you to give it a try.
Telehealth offers the same benefits as traditional in-person counseling.
What's more, telehealth sessions are reimbursed no differently than traditional counseling sessions.
I hear a lot of talk about when things "get back to normal again" and whether distance counseling will lose its popularity.
But I've also witnessed dozens of Alaskan practitioners close their brick-and-mortar practice over the last year-and-a-half in lieu of transitioning exclusively to telehealth.

Counseling is an empowering, transformative process based on a therapeutic alliance built on trust.
It is a space where experiences have place to exist without fear of judgment.
Many clients begin counseling because something has changed in their life.
A challenging experience or event to work through.
For others, the focus is on improving the way they feel about themselves and their relationships.
And some begin not in response to a problem but to get to know themselves on a deeper level and to enrich their relationships.

Or, "Can you help us decide if we should stay together?"
These are questions I'm often asked and there is no one good response for everyone.
The most accurate thing I can say is something like this: "Couples work is hard and there are no guarantees, but you are wise to invest the time and you will likely learn something very important about yourself and each other."
In order for couples counseling to be a valuable experience, both partners must be invested and willing to identify their personal goals for the relationship.

Tim Robinson, LPCS, MS, NCC is a Board Approved Supervisor.
He offers clinical supervision for master's-level interns and therapists seeking state license.
The primary focus of supervision is to help guide counselors as they find their own style.
It is also an opportunity for newer counselors to hear constructive feedback.
With regular consultation, psychoeducation, review of clinical modalities, and more broadly supporting supervisees as they learn their craft, supervision is a very important facet of becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.
