Our mission of "compassionately leading people toward wholeness" is centered in our faith.
We seek to help people walk toward wholeness in their struggles with mental health disorders.
We are deeply committed to listening to the community and respecting people from all walks of life.
As the research, efficacy and current needs were explored and affirmed we began using the EAGALA model.
Services were provided in the small aisle of a three stall barn and when weather permitted outdoors with three horses.
The effectiveness of this treatment modality became readily apparent and by June of 2011 the Equine Therapy Program became a weekly part of our intensive group therapy program.
With the increase of clients came an immediate need for more staff; another Equine Specialist (ES), Therapist and horse were added.

SpringHaven Counseling Center is located in the gently rolling hills of Wayne and Holmes Counties, an ideal setting for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP).
EAP is offered in addition to or in place of traditional office therapy sessions.
Interactive and experiential with a specialized treatment team, EAP allows individuals to learn from natural successes, mistakes, and consequences.
The focus of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is not horsemanship, but rather self-exploration, insight, skills building, and learning.
