My name is Matthew Clark and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Connecticut. I have been involved with mental health treatment since 2009 beginning in a day program through today working toward bringing positive change to clients within the CT Department of Corrections and through Clark Counseling Services, LLC.

I obtained my Masters in Clinical Psychology from American International College in Springfield, MA and am an active member of both the American Counseling Association and the CT Counseling Association.I currently specialize in treating Depression, Anxiety, Borderline Personality, and Grief. Clark Counseling Services, LLC started in 2016 with the goal of providing modern mental health treatment in a comfortable professional setting.

We strive to create a unique counseling experience for our clients so they can leave therapy feeling fulfilled, confident in themselves and ready to face the life's challenges. Mental health counseling is a very personal experience that needs to be tailored to a client's specific needs and often those needs change and develop through the course of a therapy session.

We believe a strong connection to nature and can have a rejuvenating, cleansing effect on both mind and spirit.
As part of your treatment plan connections with nature are often incorporated either meeting your counselor for a hike through the woods, a local park, a local beach or another natural location that provides you with a deep emotional connection.
Not at all.
People who ask for help know when they need it and have the courage to reach out.
Everyone needs help now and then.
In our work together, I'll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.
The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally.
A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way- teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself.
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part.
Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand.
Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
