She uses a developmental, somatic focused, and trauma-informed approach to assist clients in increasing awareness of underlying causes to current functioning.
She works with clients to develop treatment plans based upon their unique goals.
Christy is EMDR certified and uses this proven therapeutic method to help clients overcome anxiety, PTSD, depression, and panic disorders.

Christy Samms started a private practice in 2015 with a single office in the Summit office park on Oak Point Road across from Target.
She launched with a single office and a decade's worth of experience.
Her husband, Daniel being a marketer by trade and a pastor by profession helped get the word out and the practice quickly grew.
Not wanting to lose time with the family while still desiring to provide care, Christy began structuring for growth and adding staff that aligned with her mission.
She changed the name of her practice to "Hope Counseling and Consultation Services" to reflect both the vision to bring hope to clients in the region as well as the expanding scope of services.

She is licensed by the Ohio Counseling Board (CSWMFT Board) to evaluate, diagnose, and treat mental and emotional disorders.
She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Ohio Counseling Association.
