All humans experience challenges at times and this can feel overwhelming. Intelligent, competent and successful people can often experience difficulties such as anxiety or depression or can be hurt or confused when meaningful relationships are struggling. I know how hard it can be to ask for help during these times. It may even seem like the situation is worse if we "have" to ask for help.

However, reaching out during a difficult time is a positive, healthy choice that will allow us to gain some insight and find solutions that we may never have considered before. Learning to accept and trust ourselves is the first step to healing and balance. Because therapy is a unique and individual process, there is no specific right way or single solution to our problems.

It is through out experiences and relationships with others that we gain personal insight and opportunities for growth. Sometimes we just need a place to talk - a place where someone is listening without judgment, a safe place to find a way to live a more fulfilling life.

I have spent the last 25 years helping people find solutions that result in lasting change.
With specialized training in the areas of trauma, anxiety disorders, chemical abuse, and family systems I actively address the underlying issues and focus on developing awareness to enhance increased skill and confidence.
Combining Mindfullness and Cognitive Behavioral therapy in my approach, I focus on challenging negative thought patterns while assisting clients as they increase mindful awareness and acceptance.

Abdominal breathing is also known as diaphragmatic breathing.
The diaphragm is a large muscle located between the chest and the abdomen.
When it contracts it is forced downward causing the abdomen to expand.
This causes a negative pressure within the chest forcing air into the lungs.
The negative pressure also pulls blood into the chest improving the venous return to the heart.
This leads to improved stamina in both disease and athletic activity.
Like blood, the flow of lymph, which is rich in immune cells, is also improved.
