Many veterans suffer from alcohol abuse, substance abuse, mental illnesses, physical injuries and emotional disorders. Depression, loneliness and despair are not uncommon. Since 2001, the suicide rate among veterans has increased 35%. Nearly 50,000 veterans are now homeless and another 1.4 million are at risk of being homeless. To combat these statistics, the Cosac Foundation established Veterans Inn in beautiful Lake City, Florida.

Our sole focus is to provide a safe and supportive community to help veterans move forward after life in the service. Together, we have managed to make great strides toward offering a safe retreat for United States veterans. We offer rooms, meals, job placement assistance, counseling and other rehabilitation services. We have experience working with many who struggle with PTSD and others who have found themselves homeless or on the verge of being homeless.

We understand how critical it is for veterans to get the help they need at the right time and that is why we do the work we do.
Services
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) plagues the majority of our soldiers and often leads to substance abuse and attempted suicide.
A staggering 22 veterans commit suicide daily.
This also contributes to the fact that one out of every four homeless men are veterans.
For years, this problem has been undertreated or ignored entirely.
But we have a solution: Veterans Inn, a haven for our heroes that helps them get off the streets so they can start making permanent changes in their lives.
We've chosen a healing place with lots of natural beauty for our latest project: Lake City, Florida.
Veterans Inn is a haven for our heroes.
Veterans receive housing, food, employment assistance, and the support and resources they need to recover, rehabilitate and reintegrate themselves into civilian life.
From volunteering time to donating needed funds, the opportunities to help are vast.
Our veterans need our help - your help.

And of all the homeless people in America, 11 percent of them are veterans of war, with one out of every five homeless men being veterans.
Once regarded with respect and dignity, they are men and women now forgotten and alone.
Many suffer from alcohol abuse, substance abuse, mental illnesses, physical injuries and emotional disorders.
Depression, loneliness and despair are not uncommon.
While the causes and circumstances of each death vary, and we cannot alter the past, we hope to work toward making positive changes that will save lives.
