The counseling process can help one achieve a sense of renewed purpose and improved ability to deal with life's challenges.

Some challenges or tragedies in life may leave us feeling depressed or anxious. Transitions in life, parenting, or work issues may bring about more stress than we think we can handle. Counseling can help resolve confusion and the sense of feeling stuck. Downtown Counseling Services provides children, teens, adults, and seniors with responsible and productive counseling/therapy services in a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment.

We are counselors/therapists dedicated to helping our clients gain the tools and strengths needed to deal with the various challenges encountered in life. The counseling process may involve exploring and healing of past wounds, and learning new skills or methods of coping with familiar or new situations.
Services
We are independent counselors who are committed to the art of helping people.
We believe that by helping our clients to purposely look at and learn more effective ways of dealing with problematic situations, life and relationships can be more fulfilling.
This process involves examining behaviors, feelings, and thoughts objectively and sometimes requires learning new and different ways of responding to specific situations in life.
Each of us, as an independent solo practitioner, maintains our own counseling and financial records on clients, license(s), and contracts with managed care companies, EAPs, Medicaid, and insurance companies.
My name is Bonnie G. Mondragon, a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor who enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults.
My experience began in 2001 as a Certified Special Education teacher for Alvin ISD.
During that time I was also able to provide individual and family services to those in need.
In 2015, an opportunity presented itself to allow me to branch out into the private practice setting where I was able to work with all age groups in providing what was needed to guide indivudals to success.
My name is Michelle Brumley and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with adults struggling to deal with life's challenges.
I have provided counseling services for over 13 years in the Houston area in a variety of settings including private practice, a large family medicine clinic, partial hospital programs, community mental health, and substance abuse treatment centers providing individual and group counseling to adults.
I employ a holistic, collaborative approach to therapy.
Choosing a supervisor for this stage of your career is an important decision.
The first step of the process is an informal interview where the supervision process and contract are gone over.
Please bring your questions about the supervision process to the interview.
The interview typically lasts between an hour to an hour and a half.
After the meeting, the Supervisor and Intern will both determine if they would like to work together.
The supervision contract will be signed by both parties and the Intern application will be completed and sent into the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.
My name is Heather Benbrook and I am a LPC Associate currently under the supervision of Bonnie Mondragon, M.S., LPC-S, RPT-S.
Counseling is my passion and has been a journey that I have been on for the past 12 years in education with the last 8 years as a school counselor in an elementary school.
Throughout this time I have worked with many children and families through some of the most difficult times in their lives.
Trauma and difficult times have been evident in our community through natural disasters, a pandemic and daily stressors.
