You don't have to be a combat veteran to have experienced significant trauma. Even seemingly small daily stressors - when unaddressed - can take a toll, leaving you stuck in a cycle of negativity. It can be difficult to live in the present moment without resolving past trauma. My practice is trauma-informed - a warm, accepting, and judgment-free environment in which you can free your mind from the burdens of the past to focus on today's joys.

No matter your past, deep and lasting healing is possible through holistic care for the mind, body, and spirit. I focus on the whole individual, helping to turn a vicious cycle of poor physical, mental, and spiritual health into wellness and thriving. I use a customized, integrative approach to address your specific needs. In addition, I read the latest cutting-edge research in mind-body health, exercise, and nutrition, and use this information to help my clients achieve lasting healing.

I promise to walk with you during this chapter of life, empowering you to leverage your past experiences to write a beautiful and authentic next chapter.
Services
I am Carolyn Coffey, and I have a master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The University of Nebraska-Lincoln and am professionally licensed with the State of Nebraska as an Independently Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP, CPC).
I practice holistic, integrative counseling.
When it comes to mental health therapy, the cutting-edge, most effective practitioners understand that the mind, body, and spirit are connected.
I read the latest research concerning the mind, body, exercise, and nutrition and pass this information on to my clients.
My approach to counseling is revolutionary and effective because it takes into account the fact that the mind and body are interconnected.
For too long, the West has followed the (wrong!) principle that the mind and body are separate and do not affect one another.
But the latest research is revealing that they are very much connected, and thus mental health cannot be achieved without a baseline of physical health, and vice versa.
For instance, did you know that people with depression have very different bacteria in their gut than people without depression?
Cheerio and Gracie are Yorkie Poos (a cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Poodle).
Cheerio is a bit older than Gracie, and they are half sisters.
They have been through obedience school and are therapy dogs-in-training.
Cheerio is known for her calm, comforting demeanor and Gracie shares her uplifting energy and spirited enthusiasm.
Many clients find that they are able to dig deeper and release more emotion with Cheerio and Gracie in the room.
Indeed, many find that emotional support dogs contribute to the feeling of safety, security, and unconditional acceptance in the therapy session.
