Anxiety can cause people to feel afraid for no reason and if untreated, can greatly diminish an individual's quality of life. Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States and with the proper help, it is very treatable. PTSD can happen to anyone, even children and can affect your life and the people around you. PTSD can stem from being sexually assaulted, a traumatic car accident, complex grief, veteran warfare or from another time where you felt your life was being threatened.

He has an inquisitive approach of exploration that can focus on how a client's past affects the present or how the present affects the future.
He uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model which enables him to help clients identify the thoughts that are generating their feelings, which drives their behavior.
Through actively listening, he's able to offer insight for clients to better help them reach their goals.
Everyone feels sad, excited or angry sometimes.
When kids feel too good, too mad, or too sad, they might have a mood disorder.
A mood disorder is an illness of the brain.
The feelings, thoughts and behaviors of mood disorders can cause problems in a kid's life.
What causes mood disorders in children is up for debate.
There are chemicals in the brain that are responsible for positive moods.
Mood disorders may be caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain, on its own or along with environmental factors, such as unexpected life events and/or chronic stress.
Anxiety is really just a form of stress.
It can be experienced in many different ways in kids, for example physically, emotionally, and in the way kids view the world around them.
Anxiety mainly relates to worry about what might happen or worrying about things going wrong or feeling like you're in some kind of danger.
Anxiety can effect children's grades, development, social and family life.
Uncontrollable worry about multiple situations, performance, social, academic, health, financial.
Perfectionism, great fear of making mistakes, fear of criticism; unrealistic unfavorable assessment of their grades, abilities.
Being a boy or a girl, for most children, is something that feels very natural.
At birth, babies are assigned male or female based on physical characteristics.
When children are able to express themselves, they will declare themselves to be a boy or a girl (or sometimes something in between); this is their "gender identity."
Most children's gender identity aligns with their biological sex.
However, for some children, the match between biological sex and gender identity is not so clear.
When your child discloses his or her identity to you, respond in an affirming, supportive way.
