The mission of the Connecticut Counseling Association (CCA) is to support and advocate for counselors and the counseling profession through promoting professional identity, providing opportunities for professional development and networking, and offering resources to better support those we serve. I have made several close friends through my volunteering with CCA.
In addition, it feels great to be a part of an organization that furthers the development of clients and LPC's in this state. I also wanted to give back and pitch in. I think Connecticut Counseling Association is such an important organization for LPC graduate students and licensed clinicians. I became involved in my first year of graduate school and learned so much from attending events, joining and participating on committees, and serving at the annual meetings.
I met so many wonderful people who have played a significant role in my professional growth and career. I was also a member of the mentor program and was fortunate enough to have a mentor who was a lead counselor who still remains active with the foundation established after the Sandy Hook tragedy.
