October is National Bullying Prevention Month. School bullying is a serious issue that has been shown to have detrimental effects on our youth. The National Center for Educational Statistics (2019) found that one out of every five students has reported being bullied. Children and teens who experience bullying are at a greater risk for depression, anxiety, and poor academic performance.
Children and teens who perpetrate bullying are at an increased risk for mental health and behavioral health difficulties. If your child or teen has been involved in bullying, please call us. Both Tricia and Meg are second year graduate students at the University of Pittsburgh. Tricia is excited to provide individual therapy to adolescents and adults. She is particularly interested in helping individuals heal from experiences of abuse or trauma.
