You are not alone. I believe in utilizing an integrative approach where techniques are based both in empirical research and biblical principles. In sessions I focus on helping clients identify negative thinking patterns, learn coping skills, communication skills, and form strong attachments with each other. I utilize elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and Attachment Theory.

One item not to skimp on is premarital counseling.
Would you like to save yourself years of misunderstandings and frustrating communication?
Many of our clients often say that they wish they would have come to marriage counseling sooner and that the material they learn during marital sessions should be required for all people getting married!
Although, premarital counseling is not required it is extremely helpful and actually reduces the risk of divorce for a couple.

Relationships can be difficult and over time even strong connections can dwindle if left unattended.
All relationships take work and there are a multitude of circumstances that can pose problems for relationships.
Factors such as: children, work, stress, in-laws-, life transitions, infertility issues, friends, finances, and health issues just to name a few.
Couples try to cope in various ways and often their attempt at solving the problem only makes things worse.
Many couples seek help from a counselor when these attempts for coping have unintentionally led them down a destructive path.

Being a parent of a teenager can be difficult to say the least!
Their hormones are raging, they are surrounded by the influence of social media/peers, and are beginning to pull away to develop independence.
This is happening all while under your roof and supervision.
Many parents come to counseling feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, at the end of their rope, and unsure what to try next.
Counseling can help bridge the gap between parent and child during this difficult transition.
Parents can expect to gain useful tools to help understand, validate, equip, correct, and ultimately cultivate a healthy relationship with their teen.
