The mission of The Maple Counseling Center (TMCC) is to provide low-cost comprehensive mental health services to individuals of all ages, couples, and families throughout Los Angeles County, and to provide training for graduate and postgraduate students who are working towards licensure in the mental health field. In 1969 the Beverly Hills Board of Education and the Beverly Hills City Council jointly funded a community study recommending how Beverly Hills might consider addressing growing community problems.
Initially, The Maple Center focused on the increase in substance use identified by concerned parents and community members. Paraprofessionals and student peer counselors were initially utilized to provide services, but within a short time, the Center hired professional clinical staff to address the growing needs of the community. Since our founding, we have become The Maple Counseling Center, and have expanded programs to people of all ages living in all areas of Los Angeles County.
