New Horizons Counseling Center was found in 2004 out of a desire to increase the quality of mental health care in Southern Nevada and to help people find peace with their bodies and themselves. We help patients with different needs with care specific to their unique situations. Our website shares information and insights about who we are, what we do, and how we can help.

We offer one-on-one counseling designed to help you tackle life's most difficult challenges, discover your true dreams and goals in life and deal with the obstacles that are standing in your way. Family relationships can be the most important relationships in our lives as well as the most strained and conflicted. Families can be torn apart by illness, divorce, or other problems that create conflict and stress.

Family counseling can help to resolve this stress. EMDR psychotherapy is an information processing therapy and uses an eight phase approach to address the symptoms of a wide range of psychological pathologies. Interested in specialized training in treating eating disorders, depression, and anxiety?

Anxiety disorders are very real illnesses that affect approximately 40 million American adults.
Today more than 18% of the adult population in America struggles with anxiety.
Depression ranges in seriousness from mild, temporary episodes of sadness to severe, persistent depression.
Signs and symptoms of clinical depression can include sleep disturbances, loss of weight and more.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
The theory behind EMDR is that our brains have the ability and tendency to heal themselves just like our bodies do in the absence of infection or something else that blocks healing.
It is hypothesized that during REM (rapid eye movement) sleep our brains attempt to sort out or make sense of our memories and experiences.
Hence the phrase: "Let me sleep on it."
The little librarian in your brain goes to work during REM sleep to file away memories and experiences that make sense of your experiences and the world.
In this weekend intensive workshop, you will learn about cultivating authenticity, self-compassion, resilience, gratitude, joy, intuition, faith, creativity, play, calm, rest and laughter.
You will learn about courage.
We will discuss feelings of "never enough, " and about striving for perfection.
We will talk about the myth that vulnerability is weakness.
We will also talk about how, in fact, it is our best measure of courage and the birthplace of love, connection, and belonging.
