Best Day Psychiatry and Counseling, formerly known as Fayetteville Psychiatric Associates, opened our doors in 2004 with the mission to provide quality psychiatric care and services to both adults and children. We have since opened two more locations in Fuquay-Varina and Raleigh, and added licensed and easy-to-talk-to providers. Our practice provides outpatient treatment, including: psychiatric evaluations, medication management and therapy for all ages.

Our providers are trained to treat a range of psychiatric conditions, like anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder and more. We pride ourselves in providing the time necessary to render excellent care to all age groups, assist our clients in navigating a complex system, finding the best supporting specialists and enabling excellent communication to ensure the highest quality services.

Our collaborative approach includes specialized and creative interventions based on your specific needs, whether it is psychotherapy, medication, or a combination of the two.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health problem that you may develop after experiencing a life-threatening event, natural disasters, car accidents or sexual assaults.
After these traumatic events, it's normal to have some upsetting memories, feelings of being on edge or trouble sleeping.
At first, day-to-day activities like going to work or school may be difficult.
If these feelings do not subside after a few weeks or months, you may have PTSD.
It's important to remember that PTSD does not mean weakness.
Panic disorder - feelings of terror strike at random and you may feel like you're having a panic attack.
You may feel chest pains and palpitations or a choking sensation.
Social anxiety disorder - also called social phobias, social anxiety disorder is characterized by an overwhelming worry about everyday situations.
Specific phobias - feelings of fear and terror surrounding specific objects or situations such as snakes or flying.
The fear goes above and beyond what's situationally appropriate and gets in the way of your life.
Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social interactions, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.
Autism isn't just one condition, but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental factors.
The most obvious signs of ASD appear between ages 2 and 3, but in some cases can be diagnosed as early as 18 months.
While Best Day Psychiatry and Counseling, formerly known as Fayetteville Psychiatric Associates, doesn't have treatment providers specializing in autism spectrum disorder, we do treat the interconnected conditions.
