Are you pregnant or newly a parent and finding yourself feeling distressed, hopeless, or helpless? Do you often experience stress with work or relationships that feels overwhelming?

Whether you're struggling with depression, anxiety, or a relationship issue; need support navigating pregnancy, the postpartum period, or another life transition; or are simply searching for a space to learn more about yourself and grow your confidence, I am here to listen and to help.It is important to know that you are not alone and with support, you can heal and feel well.

Counseling is a deeply personal and at times, intense, process and it is my belief that goodness of fit between a person and their helping professional is crucial in ensuring a successful experience. I thank you for considering me in your search and I encourage you to reach out to me with any questions you may have.
Services
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (#46.002816) in the state of Connecticut with my Masters and Educational Specialist degrees in clinical mental health counseling from James Madison University.
I have extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to adults, adolescents, and children in a number of settings including community mental health agencies and college counseling centers.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association, the Connecticut Counseling Association, and Postpartum Support International, with advanced training in the treatment of anxiety, depression, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
In our work together, you can expect a confidential and non-judgmental environment in which to explore your concerns and challenges.
I use an integrative approach to therapy, meaning that I draw from a number of treatment modalities depending on the individual needs of the person I am meeting with including:.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is based on the idea that how we think, how we feel, and how we act all interact.
Simply put, our thoughts heavily influence our emotions and our behavior.
Counseling sessions are generally 50 minutes each.
The best results can be expected when you attend therapy weekly, at least in the beginning.
In our work together, we will focus on exploring your concerns, finding solutions as quickly as possible, and moving forward.
I strive to empower those I work with to make positive changes and build coping skills for the future rather than relying on therapy indefinitely.
I am considered an out-of-network provider with insurance companies.
Upon request, I can provide a monthly billing statement to be submitted for reimbursement if you have PPO, HSA, or other flexible health care benefits.
Whether you are just beginning a private practice, are hoping to see a few clients a week, or simply don't want to deal with the hassle of signing a lease and furnishing a space, subleasing an office can be an excellent alternative.
The office is located in West Hartford Center, close to many popular restaurants, businesses, and the highway.
Your clients will be able to wait in a comfortable and private space, with coffee and refreshments available to them.
The 465 square foot office suite is fully furnished, tastefully decorated, and sound proofed.
I am available for supervision, consultation, trainings, and presentations on a number of topics.
As a former college counselor, I have experience providing outreach and consultation to students, faculty, and staff and have had the opportunity to provide supervision to counselors-in-training, all which I found to be rewarding and engaging experiences.
Please contact me about your particular needs.
