I am an interactive, compassionate, and down-to-earth therapist. My approach begins with having respect for your experiences, your current understanding of yourself, and your innate (though perhaps hidden) ability to help yourself. From there we work together to develop solutions for whatever brings you to treatment. This may include practical one-time solutions or more extensive behavior changes based on a deeper understanding of your personality and development.

I believe the most effective therapeutic work takes place within the context of a healthy, professional relationship. Therefore I place a high value on creating an emotionally safe, respectful, and informed environment in which you can feel confident that you are getting expert care which will serve you well throughout your life. Please explore the links and information available here, and feel free to contact me with any questions you may have or to schedule an appointment.

I look forward to hearing from you! I work with a broad spectrum of clients as an individual and group psychotherapist.
Services
I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) and a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP).
I work with individuals, couples, and groups to address a wide variety of mental health concerns in my private practice.
I graduated from the University of Rochester (Rochester, NY) in 2002 with a Master's Degree in Community Mental Health.
Following completion of my graduate degree, I worked on the faculty of Monroe Community College teaching courses in Interpersonal Communication and Crisis Communication.
I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond.
In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth for which they're striving.
Not at all.
People who ask for help know when they need it and have the courage to reach out.
Everyone needs help now and then.
In our work together, I'll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.
The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally.
A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way- teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgment or expectations, and help you listen to yourself.
I do not accept any insurances directly.
You will need to pay my full fee at the time of your visit.
However, you may still be eligible for some insurance reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network coverage.
In those circumstances, I can provide you with the documentation necessary to submit your claims.
Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand.
Could you use an expert opinion on what you're going through, or a non-judgemental ear just to listen?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you've been seeking.
Individual therapy differs from group or alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.
If you've been feeling hopeless or lost lately, or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, individual therapy could help you improve your everyday life.
